Valentine's Day is right around the corner so instead of spending the weekend at home, let's spend it together! Mark your calendar for the official SDBC Galentine's Day Weekend:

Friday, February 14th at 6pm 

The Taste of Bahamas, located at 4705 Lake Avenue, has their surf and turf dinner for 2 which includes two steaks or two lobsters with two sides for $80. Join me for an evening of dining at one of Rochester's best Black owned restaurants. This dinner will be a treat for all in attendance. Once we are there we will match up in pairs of two and split the cost for dinner. Please let me know if you plan to attend so I can ensure seating for everyone. 

Saturday, February 15th at 7pm 

Issa Rae has a new movie coming out on Valentine's Day called The Photograph. In the movie, Issa plays a character named Mae. When her estranged mother passes away she finds a photograph tucked away in a safe-deposit box and soon finds herself delving into her mother's early life. That investigation leads to an unexpected romance with a rising journalist. Watch the trailer here. We'll purchase tickets for the 7:05pm showing at Regal Henrietta. Please meet in the theater lobby 15 minutes prior to the movie start time.
