Meet our #SDBC Feature of the Week!

Takiyah Butler is a Change Expert who specializes in guiding individuals, communities and organizations through the tough work necessary to redesign complex systems. After over 10 years of designing numerous community benefit efforts across the country which are still in place and growing, Takiyah has been coined a “Failure Expert” by her peers. She never quits, and always enjoys helping others reframe failure as a chance to learn something new.

Takiyah accomplishes this by creating "safe space to fail" through graceful strategic planning, designing systems with integrity and leadership development built on love and encouragement.

Her motto: “Perfection of the Sum, not the Parts.”

Takiyah has a MSEd in Community and Social Change from the University of Miami and a BA in Economics from Binghamton University – SUNY.

Takiyah comes from a long line of explorers. In addition to having lived in St. Louis (MO), the DMV, Miami, Las Vegas and even a short stint in Bali, Takiyah loves exploring other cultures through art and storytelling. In her spare time, she enjoys a good roadtrip playlist, hiking, yoga, biking, finding obscure podcasts/articles, candid photography and spending time with her family.

Her next goal is to help at least 10 changemakers reach their own creative goals in 2021.
