SDBC Feature of the Week: Torri Cowans

Meet our #SDBC Feature of the Week!

Torri Cowans is a Care Coordinator for Person Centered Services, an organization who provides services to people with developmental disabilities. Prior to this, Torri worked for CCSI as a Care Manager working with people with mental health concerns. She has over 10 years of experience working in the human service field with this population.

Torri has a B.A in Sociology and M.A from Nazareth College. She is the Chief Consultant and Founder of B.R.O.W.N (Building Relationships Out of Wounded Neighbors), a business designed to link services to underprivileged individuals to ensure their wellbeing mentally, emotionally and physically. She provides consultations to guide individuals towards a happy and healthy life.

Additionally, she hosts a podcast called Solid Conversations. Episodes feature conversations focused around healing during these challenging times and what we can do to care for ourselves.

Torri is passionate about serving her community and working with families in need. This is also reflective in the work she has done as a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

When asked how she is living her best life as a single woman, this mother of four says she enjoys driving, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She is enjoying life and all this single journey has to offer her.
